2024 Château d'Esclans Les Clans Rosé
Les Clans is one of Château d'Esclans' top cuvées, drawn from a small selection of old-vine parcels and fermented in French oak demi-muids. This is Provence rosé built for the table and the cellar. Serious in every sense.
Grape varieties: Old-vine Grenache and Rolle (Vermentino).
Terroir: Estate parcels of vines averaging 60-80 years old, on clay-limestone and stony schist soils.
Vinification: Whole-cluster pressing and fermentation in 600-litre French oak demi-muids (around 10% new). Aged on fine lees with regular bâtonnage for around ten months.
COLOUR: Pale copper-pink with a golden shimmer.
NOSE: White peach, apricot pit, wild strawberry, brioche, hazelnut and toasted almond.
PALATE: Full-bodied, textured and mineral, with layered fruit, integrated oak spice and a long, savoury finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Grilled lobster, veal, roast poultry and mature soft cheeses. Serve at 12-14°C.
