2023 Schloss Vollrads QbA Riesling Rheingau
Schloss Vollrads is one of the world's oldest wine estates, with documented Riesling production stretching back nearly nine centuries in Germany's Rheingau. This QbA Riesling is the estate's elegant, expressive entry-level cuvée, balancing classical Rheingau finesse with food-friendly, gently fruity charm.
Grape variety: 100% Riesling.
Terroir: The Rheingau, on slopes overlooking the Rhine, with weathered slate and quartzite soils that give Riesling its distinctive minerality.
Vinification: Cool fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the grape's pure aromatic precision, with a short period of lees ageing.
COLOUR: Bright pale yellow with green reflections.
NOSE: Fresh green apple, vineyard peach, white blossom and quince over fine slate-driven minerality.
PALATE: Juicy and harmonious, with a delicate balance of fruit, gentle residual sweetness and bright acidity.
FOOD PAIRING: A versatile match for Asian cuisine, shellfish, light pasta, mild curries and creamy soft cheeses. Serve at 8-10°C.
