2020 Gérard Bertrand Gris Blanc Pays d'Oc
Gérard Bertrand's Gris Blanc is a hallmark expression of southern French Grenache, sourced from vineyards near Tautavel between the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Pyrenees. Light in colour and crisp in style, it captures the elegance and freshness for which Bertrand's Languedoc-Roussillon estates are celebrated.
Grape varieties: Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir.
Terroir: Stony, sun-drenched soils of the Pays d'Oc, cooled by Mediterranean and Pyrenean influences.
Vinification: The grapes are pressed directly under inert gas to preserve their delicate aromas, then fermented at low temperature in stainless steel and aged briefly on fine lees to retain freshness and texture.
COLOUR: Very pale pink with grey-white reflections.
NOSE: Freshly squeezed citrus and juniper berry, with tropical hints of pineapple and guava.
PALATE: Crisp, light and refreshing, with delicate fruit and clean acidity.
FOOD PAIRING: A versatile aperitif, ideal with shellfish, Mediterranean salads and grilled white fish. Serve well chilled at 8-10°C.
