2024 Château d'Esclans Rock Angel Rosé
Rock Angel sits a step above Whispering Angel in the Château d'Esclans range. It is a serious Provence rosé with a portion of the blend fermented and aged in large oak foudres to add texture and complexity while keeping the pale identity of the appellation intact.
Grape varieties: Grenache-led blend with Rolle (Vermentino) and Syrah.
Terroir: Selected parcels across the Château d'Esclans estate and neighbouring vineyards in Côtes de Provence, on clay-limestone with schist inclusions.
Vinification: Around half of the wine is fermented and aged in large oak foudres, the rest in stainless steel, before assembly. No malolactic fermentation.
COLOUR: Pale coral pink with silvery highlights.
NOSE: Ripe white peach, redcurrant, subtle brioche and a hint of dried flowers.
PALATE: Layered and textured, with fresh acidity, gentle oak influence and a long, mineral finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Grilled fish, roast chicken, charcuterie and lighter Provençal dishes. Serve at 10-12°C.
