2022 Clos Bibliothèque 'Terre Princière' Pinot Noir
From Clos Bibliothèque, a boutique Black Sea winery in the village of Nevsha some 50 km from Varna, the 'Terre Princière' Pinot Noir is part of the estate's prestige range. With French consultancy and ageing in Burgundian oak from Tonnellerie Chassin and in Clayver ceramic amphorae, this Bulgarian Pinot Noir is shaped with genuine fine-wine ambition.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir.
Terroir: The Black Sea region near Varna, with mild maritime influences and limestone-rich soils. High-density plantings encourage concentration in the fruit.
Vinification & ageing: Plot-by-plot fermentation under French consultancy, with malolactic in barrel. Aged in Burgundian oak from Tonnellerie Chassin and in Clayver ceramic amphorae.
COLOUR: Bright ruby red.
NOSE: Perfumed nose of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, sweet spice and a discreet wood note.
PALATE: Medium-bodied and silky, with fine tannins, lifted fruit and a long, refined finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Excellent with roast duck, mushroom dishes, pork tenderloin and aged soft cheeses. Serve at 14-16°C.
