2021 GLATT Grauburgunder Baden
From Germany's sunniest wine region, Baden, this GLATT Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) showcases the variety's typical Baden character: ripe, full-bodied and precise. Baden's warm climate allows Grauburgunder to develop richness and depth while preserving freshness, making it one of Germany's signature white styles.
Grape variety: 100% Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris).
Terroir: Baden in south-west Germany, with a warm continental climate and a varied mosaic of volcanic and limestone soils, especially around the Kaiserstuhl.
Vinification: Cool fermentation in stainless steel, followed by ageing on fine lees for added body and texture before bottling.
COLOUR: Pale gold in the glass.
NOSE: Aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple and fresh almond, with a subtle floral lift.
PALATE: Medium- to full-bodied, with a creamy texture, balanced acidity and a clean, dry finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Pairs well with creamy risottos, roast chicken, schnitzel, smoked fish and mature cheeses. Serve at 10-12°C.
