2020 Château Gigery Côtes de Provence Rosé
Château Gigery sits in the heart of Provence, an hour from Saint-Tropez, producing the kind of bright, mineral rosé for which the region is famous. The estate combines traditional Provençal know-how with modern, temperature-controlled vinification to capture the freshness and finesse of the appellation.
Grape varieties: Predominantly Grenache, with traditional supporting varieties such as Cinsault and Syrah.
Terroir: Stony, sun-drenched soils of Côtes de Provence, with Mediterranean and breezy mistral influences.
Harvest: Mechanically harvested at night to preserve aromatic freshness and prevent oxidation.
Vinification: Brief skin maceration to extract the wine's pale colour, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at low temperature.
COLOUR: Pale, luminous pink.
NOSE: Bright and dry, with red cherry, strawberry, ruby grapefruit and lime.
PALATE: Crisp and refreshing, with delicate fruit, mineral undertones and a clean finish.
FOOD PAIRING: A versatile aperitif, also lovely with summer salads, grilled fish, white meats and Provençal cuisine. Serve at 8-10°C.
