2025 Kaylashki Misket
Kaylashki Misket is one of Bulgaria's emblematic native white grapes, originating in the Pleven region of the Danubian Plain. A late-ripening crossing of Riesling Italico and Tamyanka, it produces fresh, fragrant whites prized for their lifted Muscat-like aromatics and lively acidity.
Grape variety: 100% Kaylashki Misket.
Terroir: The Danubian Plain (Северна винарска област), a moderately continental wine region with chernozem and grey-forest soils that give Bulgarian whites their characteristic freshness and aromatic lift.
Vinification: Cool fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the grape's delicate Muscat aromatics, with a short period on fine lees.
COLOUR: Pale straw-yellow with golden glints.
NOSE: Lifted Muscat aromatics, white peach, grapefruit and white flowers.
PALATE: Fresh and harmonious, with vibrant acidity, gentle texture and a clean, lightly perfumed finish.
FOOD PAIRING: A refreshing aperitif, also lovely with fresh salads, light fish dishes, soft cheeses and Asian cuisine. Best enjoyed young, served at 8-10°C.
