2023 GLATT Chardonnay Baden

GLATT Chardonnay is grown in Baden, Germany's warmest wine region where Burgundian varieties thrive on a mosaic of volcanic and limestone soils, especially around the Kaiserstuhl. It reflects the modern German style of Chardonnay - ripe, balanced and gently structured.

Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.

Terroir: Baden, characterised by warm summers, well-drained volcanic and limestone soils, and significant diurnal temperature variation that helps preserve freshness in white wines.

Vinification: Cool fermentation in stainless steel, with a portion aged briefly in oak to add subtle texture and a discreet creamy note.

COLOUR: Bright pale yellow.

NOSE: White-fleshed orchard fruit, citrus and a discreet hint of toasted hazelnut.

PALATE: Medium-bodied with a creamy mid-palate, fresh acidity and a clean finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Perfect with poultry in cream sauce, baked fish, mushroom risotto, soft cheeses and lightly spiced Asian dishes. Serve at 10-12°C.
