2017 Château Cheval Blanc Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A

Château Cheval Blanc is one of the most fabled estates in Bordeaux, sitting on the boundary between Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Its singular blend, dominated by Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot, produces some of the most distinctive wines in the world. 2017 in Saint-Émilion was a more delicate, elegant vintage, and Cheval Blanc has captured that finesse beautifully.

Grape varieties: Approximately 52% Cabernet Franc and 43% Merlot, with a touch of Malbec.

Terroir: 39 hectares on the unique gravel-and-clay mosaic that straddles Saint-Émilion and Pomerol.

Vinification & ageing: Plot-by-plot vinification, malolactic in barrel, aged around 18 months in French oak barrels (a high proportion new).

COLOUR: Bright deep ruby.

NOSE: Refined nose of red and black cherry, raspberry, violet, cedar and graphite.

PALATE: Silky and harmonious, with finely woven tannins, freshness and a long, perfumed finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Pair with duck breast, lamb, truffle pasta and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.

We deliver in Sofia and across Bulgaria. Pickup available at the bar at 33 Sveti Kliment Ohridski Street during opening hours.
