2016 Château Pédesclaux Pauillac 5ème Cru Classé - Magnum

Château Pédesclaux is an 1855 Fifth Growth in Pauillac, completely transformed since its acquisition by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009 with a new gravity-fed winery and revitalised vineyard work. 2016 is one of the great Bordeaux vintages of recent times. Magnum format is ideal for cellaring.

Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Terroir: 52 hectares spread across 19 different terroirs in Pauillac, on deep Günzian gravels with clay subsoils.

Vinification & ageing: Plot-by-plot, gravity-fed vinification in temperature-controlled vats; malolactic in barrel. Aged 18 months in French oak (a high proportion new).

COLOUR: Deep ruby with purple highlights.

NOSE: Classic Pauillac bouquet of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite and tobacco.

PALATE: Full-bodied and structured, with finely grained tannins and a long, refined finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Pair with rib of beef, lamb, game and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C; cellaring potential of 15-25 years.

We deliver in Sofia and across Bulgaria. Pickup available at the bar at 33 Sveti Kliment Ohridski Street during opening hours.
