Ruinart Blanc de Blancs
Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs is a representative of Maison Ruinart, founded in 1729 and thus the oldest champagne house in the world. Renowned for its use of Chardonnay, with the Blanc de Blancs Ruinart applies this concept one hundred percent.
This cuvée is composed of 100% Chardonnay, with up to 25% coming from wines of previous years, which gives the wine a perfect drinking maturity. The hand-picked grapes come predominantly from Premier Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The chalky soils of these sites give this grape variety the mineral freshness that distinguishes Champagne Chardonnay.
The exquisite lightness of the Blanc de Blancs is further enhanced and emphasised by some wines from the north of the Vesle valley. The fruity freshness of the first scents, such as citrus, is matched by the colour of the champagne itself. A pale gold colour with light green reflections feels summery, harmonising with the further floral notes on the nose.
The citrus continues into the rich palate, with notes of white blossom such as jasmine, rounded off by a refreshing finish of white peach and lemon.
The origin of R de Ruinart
Founded by Nicolas Ruinart, Maison Ruinart has shaped champagne history in many different ways. After its founding in 1729, in the mid-eighteenth century Ruinart acquired its first "crayères", which provide ideal conditions for the maturation of the champagne. In these chalk cellars, created by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago, the finely nuanced development of the champagne takes place. Maison Ruinart has a long and traditional history of constantly striving for perfection.
