2023 Domaine Faiveley Mercurey 'Clos Rochette'

Clos Rochette is a 5.45-hectare south-east-facing monopole owned by Domaine Faiveley since 1933, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. A benchmark white from this lesser-known Burgundian sub-region, it is crafted to express both site purity and Faiveley's hallmark precision.

Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.

Terroir: Stony clay-limestone soils that give the vineyard its name. South-east exposure ensures balanced ripening with good acidity preservation.

Harvest: Hand-harvested grapes are sorted at the cellar and pressed gently to preserve aromatic finesse.

Ageing: Fermented and aged for 16 months partly in French oak barrels (around 25% new) with regular bâtonnage on the fine lees, the rest in stainless-steel vat to preserve freshness.

COLOUR: Bright golden hue.

NOSE: Orchard fruit, white flowers, a subtle hint of hazelnut and gentle wood spice.

PALATE: Full-bodied, mineral and well structured, with a long, refined finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Serve at 11-13°C with poultry in cream sauce, lobster, veal, scallops and aged hard cheeses. Drink now or cellar for 5-8 years.

We deliver in Sofia and across Bulgaria. Pickup available at the bar at 33 Sveti Kliment Ohridski Street during opening hours.
