2022 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc BIO

Château de Beaucastel is one of the iconic estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, owned by the Perrin family since 1909 and farmed organically and biodynamically. Their CdP Blanc is one of the southern Rhône's most age-worthy whites - famously dominated by old-vine Roussanne and known for its remarkable longevity.

Grape varieties: A traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape white blend with old-vine Roussanne playing the leading role, supported by Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc and Clairette.

Terroir: The famous galets roulés (rolled pebbles) over red clay subsoil at La Crau in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Certified organic and biodynamic.

Vinification & ageing: Hand-harvested and gently pressed; fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in oak foudre. Aged on fine lees with extended bâtonnage.

COLOUR: Bright pale gold.

NOSE: Refined bouquet of white peach, honeysuckle, citrus zest, beeswax and gentle white-pepper spice.

PALATE: Rich and textured yet precise, with vibrant acidity and a long, mineral, gently saline finish.

FOOD PAIRING: A great partner for lobster, roast poultry, white truffle dishes and aged hard cheeses. Cellaring potential 10-15+ years. Serve at 11-13°C.

We deliver in Sofia and across Bulgaria. Pickup available at the bar at 33 Sveti Kliment Ohridski Street during opening hours.
