2020 Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Chardonnay
Côte des Roses celebrates the Mediterranean lifestyle of southern France. Recognisable by its iconic rose-shaped bottle base - designed by a young artist from the École Boulle - it has become one of Gérard Bertrand's most charming signatures.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.
Terroir: Languedoc vineyards on a varied mosaic of limestone, schist and gravel soils, lending minerality and aromatic depth. The climate, influenced by both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, ensures balanced ripening.
Vinification: Destemmed grapes are cool-settled and fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature, then aged briefly on fine lees to preserve freshness and add a discreet creamy texture.
COLOUR: Bright pale yellow with golden reflections.
NOSE: Fresh citrus, exotic fruit, pear and pineapple, with a subtle floral lift.
PALATE: Ripe and rounded, with baked apple, gentle stone-fruit notes and a lifted lemon-zest acidity that carries a clean, refreshing finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, creamy pasta, sushi and soft cheeses. Serve at 9-11°C.
