2019 Paolo Leo 'Renée Nicola' Puglia Bianco BIO
Paolo Leo is a fourth-generation family estate based in San Donaci, in the heart of Salento, southern Puglia. The 'Renée Nicola' organic white pays homage to the founders' parents and showcases the vibrant whites that this sun-drenched region can produce.
Grape variety: 100% Verdeca.
Terroir: Organic vineyards on the red, iron-rich clay soils of southern Puglia, with a warm Mediterranean climate cooled by Adriatic and Ionian breezes.
Vinification: Cool fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with a short period on fine lees to add texture.
COLOUR: Bright pale straw-yellow.
NOSE: Mediterranean aromas of yellow apple, lemon, white flowers and gentle Mediterranean herbs.
PALATE: Fresh, savoury and well-balanced, with clean acidity and a saline, mineral finish.
FOOD PAIRING: A natural with seafood pasta, grilled fish, antipasti and Mediterranean vegetable dishes. Serve at 10-12°C.
